DWSD has been collaborating with its wholesale customers on a variety of issues through an outreach process since 1997. The effort encompasses a Water Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), a Wastewater Steering Committee and their related work groups that include staff from DWSD, wholesale water and wastewater customers, SEMCOG and MDEQ. This outreach portal was developed as a resource for these groups.
2011 RTB Performance Annual Report…Record-setting levels of rain and snow in 2011 put southeast Michigan retention treatment basins (RTBs) to the test. Operators worked long hours to prevent 27.8 billion gallons of untreated CSOs from entering our waterways, demonstrating the critical role these facilities play in protecting public health.
Faces of Water…Hundreds of water professionals work together each day to deliver safe drinking water to our taps. This edition of Operation Clean Water introduces individuals from the DWSD, suburban communities and MDEQ who manage the water treatment process and distribution system in our area through video and detailed narratives.
